Denmark – Copenhagen and Hedensted

Next stop, Denmark!!  One of my favorite countries in the world.  I might be biased because it is the only place I have lived except for New Zealand, but I had a great time here and made some lifelong friends.  And I was finally going to be able to see some of them again.

First stop was Mette’s house in Hedensted, a little town in the country.  Whilst here we met her husband and two children, 2 years and 7 weeks.  I like to think that we helped out a little, but the likelihood is that things got further behind and Mette had a lot of work to do when we left.  In any case, we had a great time and loved catching up with her and meeting her family.  Whilst there we went for an “off road” walk in a small Danish forest

and explored a deer park.

Next stop, Copenhagen – my old stomping ground.  Both Laurence and I had been here in the past, so we knew what to expect.  We had done all of the touristy stuff so we were just exploring the changes, buying my curry salad that I liked so much last time, and catching up with Trine.  Trine and I had worked together on a moot court (a mock court case) and had represented Denmark in the European competition, so, needless to say, we knew each other pretty well and spent a LOT of time together drinking tea and studying.  It was great to meet her partner and her three children.  Her mother was also there, which was awesome as she had invited me, and I had attended, to Christmas the year that I lived there.  WE had a lovely dinner and evening together.

My other friends in Denmark will be a next time visit, one a bit more closely planned and executed!
